Mundgod: Reacting to the media report on conspiracy to assassinate spiritual leader Dalai Lama which was aired in a section of media on Monday, Mundgod Dogyoling Tibetan Settlement representative Jigme Sultrim has said that spiritual leader Dalai Lama is a special guest of India and he has been provided with Z plus security.

However, the news aired by media houses is a matter of concern. We have total confidence on the Union Home Ministry and they would foil all such bids, he said.

He said there is a saying that there cannot be smoke without fire. The Indian army is ten times powerful than the terrorist. The Intelligence Bureau will probe the news on all angels and will go to its roots and nab the conspiracy hatchers, he said.

He further said that there was a blast at Bodhgaya and during the investigation, it was revealed that the Dalai Lama temple at Dharmshala was in the hit list of the terrorists.

Earlier too there were attempts made to make Tibetans scapegoats and infuse hatred by writing objectionable messages in the social media on the incidents taking place in Myanmar.

The programmes of Dalai Lama will be fixed six months ago. Based on the intelligence report, the programmes will be fixed, he added.

Cleanliness drive

Jigme said that as part of Gandhi Jayanti to be celebrated on October 2, the Tibetans would be taking up cleanliness drive. A total of 110 Tibetans including heads of 10 camps would be cleaning the premises of government offices, hospital premises, he added.

He said this initiative has been taken up following instructions from Central Tibetan administration at Dharmashala. Cleanliness will be held at taluk office premises, hospital premises, court premises, bus stand and taxi stand, he said.
