Tourists fear after spotting Tiger near Yana

Sirsi: Tourists had to witness a kind of fear after spotting a tiger, which had been preying on cattle around Mattighatta in Sirsi taluk for the last few days. The tiger was spotted near Yana, a popular tourist spot.

Around eight cattle heads have fallen prey to the tiger at Devanmane, Byadgar, Hosgadde region in the last one month.

In another incident which took place two days back, the tiger chased a two-wheeler in the evening.

The riders luckily escaped by raising a loud voice. Just two days after this incident, the tiger has been spotted near Yana near Sirsi. 

Meanwhile, spotting of the tiger near Yana has created fear among the tourists.

“I had come to Yana along with family but we had to return without visiting the place after we heard the roar of the tiger”, said Tilak Naik, a tourist from Sorab in Shivamogga district.

Another tourist said that they spotted the tiger crossing the road while they were returning from Yana. Without taking much risk, they just sped away from there.
