Jeddah: A heart-wrenching incident unfolded near Riyadh in Saudi Arabia on Friday, resulting in the loss of four lives from an NRI family hailing from Andhra Pradesh. The family's car tragically caught fire and was consumed in flames after colliding with a trailer.

According to media reports, the victims had recently completed their Umrah pilgrimage in Makkah and were in the process of returning to Kuwait.

The deceased have been identified as Dandu Ghouse Basha, originally from Madanapalle in Sri Annamayya, his wife Tabarak Sarwar, along with their two young sons – Ehan, a three-year-old, and eight-month-old Dameel.

Basha, employed at an American University in Kuwait, had brought his family to Saudi Arabia for Umrah in their new car. Following their pilgrimage activities and prayers at the Prophet's Mosque in Madina, they were on their way back to Kuwait. Tragedy struck when their vehicle collided with a trailer on the Hafna – Tuwakh road, approximately 120 km away from Riyadh.

The bodies of the victims were transferred to Rumah General Hospital. Due to the car fire caused by the collision, it proved challenging to identify the victims as most of their belongings, including travel documents, were destroyed.

Despite these challenges, with the assistance of the police and prominent social worker Sidhikh Tuvvur, along with support from KMCC Malayali community workers, the victims were successfully identified and their family members were contacted.
