Walking on railway track with earphones takes youth’s life in Gangolli

Kundapur: A youth walking on railway track died on spot after he got hit by a demo train at the Pudukone railway station in Kundapur on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Jagath Hegde, aged 22.

The eye witnesses informed that Jagath was walking on the railway track with earphones on, busy on his phone, when a speedy demo train on way from Udupi to Bhatkal hit him from behind. He was unable to hear the sound of train as his ears were covered with headphones. The blow from train flew him off the track and he sustained grievous injuries on his head which made him breathe his last on the spot.

It is told that Jagath was a resident of Bengaluru and had come to Gangolli to meet his relatives. He was said to have secured a job at Bengaluru recently and was about to join the firm in a few days when he lost his life to a train accident.

As soon as the news was received, Gangolli PSI Subanna immediately reached the spot and sent the body to Kundapur for post mortem.

A case has been registered at Gangolli police station.
