Karwar: Two checkposts of the Commercial Tax department in Uttara Kannada district have been closed from midnight of 30th June, and the officials posted at Karwar and Joida taluks are awaiting orders for shifting of office equipment to their divisional office in Hubli.
Both these checkposts are on the Karnataka-Goa Border. Activities at both Majali (Karwar taluk) and Anmod (Joida taluk) checkposts have been closed from June 30 midnight, but the officals have been coming to the office.

Sanjeev Joshi, CTO at Anmod said,"We are waiting for offical communation about the shifting the office to the division office in Hubli-Dharwad".

However, forest, RTO, excise and mines and geology checkposts are working as usual.
