Karwar: Two persons killed while six persons were injured when a car in which they were travelling collided with a lorry which was coming from opposite direction on Sunday at Chikkamavalli in Yellapur taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Gangibai Karat (55) and Sonu Takku Kokare (40) of Deshpandenagar of Kolikere in Yellapur.

All the six injured have been admitted to a local hospital.

The car was on the way to Yellapur market from Kiravatti, when the accident occured.

Yellapur police have registered a case.
