Ankola: A 25-Year-old driver was killed after the truck he was driving in went on hitting a parked truck, that happened on the afternoon of 9th August, Wednesday near Saralebail on Agsur NH-63 in Ankola taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Basavaraj Mahantesh Karadi, a resident of Kushtagi taluk. 

Sources from Ankola informed that the incident reported when one of the trucks, which had defected was parked aside the road and the speedy truck approaching from back side lost control and went on colliding at the rear of a parked truck. This made the driver sustain grievous injuries over his body and was immediately rushed to Ankola govt hospital through 108-ambulance service. Unfortunately, unable to bear the pain, he breathed his last in the hospital.

During the incident, the truck was heading towards Yellapur route from Ankola. Also the parked truck was reportedly facing in the same direction. The impact of collision made the front portion of the truck completely damaged.

In this regard, a case has been registered in Ankola police station and investigations are carried on.
