Abu Dhabi: The UAE's Abdullah Sultan Al Aryani, UAE’s gold medallist at the 2012 London Paralympic Games, has added a sliver to his tally at Rio in the R1-Men’s 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 at the Olympic Shooting Centre on Thursday.

China’s Dong Chao clinched gold with 205.8 points while South Korea’s Kim Suwan completed the podium with 181.7 points.

“I’m always so happy when I get a medal and it comes with a lot of confidence for my other events this week,” said an elated Al Aryani.

“Standing events are not my strongest, but having the world record and winning multiple world cups gave me hope that I would do well today,” added Al Aryani, who will be now looking to defend his title in the mixed R6-50m air rifle prone SH1.
