Udupi: A case has been registered against a youth with regard to posting a disgraceful comment on a Facebook photo which was uploaded on 14th April, Friday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar.
The accused, Srikanth Nayak, is a youth from Bailoor and the case was registered against him at Brahmavar police station for allegedly commenting an offensive statement against Dr B R Ambedkar.
According to the sources, a comment was posted by the accused on a photo of Dr B R Ambedkar which was uploaded by a Facebook page. The comment demeaned\insulted the Indian Constitution along with Dr B R Ambedkar.
Following this, a person from Brahmavar, Chandra Althar lodged a complaint at Brahmavar police station against the accused stating that the comments not only showed disrespect towards the constitution but also hurt the feelings of people.
Investigations are in progress by the Brahmavar police.
