Udupi: Udupi deputy commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis has ordered ban on protests, public meetings and other such programmes at Chittaranjan Circle, which is located in the heart of Udupi city.

This move has been taken up from the viewpoint of public convenience and smooth movement of traffic.

"Chittaranjan Circle is situated in the heart of Udupi town. There is a Mescom office, the head post office, the Government College for Women, the Gandhi Hospital and the Krishna Mutt in the vicinity of Chittaranjan Circle. Protests and public meetings at the Circle has been creating inconvenience to vehicle users as well as to other road users,” said DC.

The officer further said that the public organisations should make use of the Satyagraha Katte in front of the District Offices Complex for public meetings and protests.
