Kumta: The robbery attempt went in vain when the thieves couldn't break down the wall of a jewellery shop at the midnight of 22nd August, Monday at Bastipet, opposite to Damodar complex in Kumta. 

The shop belonged to Gajanan N Revankar. As per the initial reports, it is said that the thieves tried breaking the wall of a shop from the rear portion of building but their mission failed as they could not create an opening in a wall.

Next day, when the owner reached his shop, he observed some damages on the walls of the shop. Doubtful about the incident, he immediately informed the matter to police department after which a team led by PSI ShashiKumar rushed to the spot and investigated.

It is said that, since thieves were unable to breach the walls of a building, fortunately, the huge amount kept at shop was completely safe. Further investigations are on.
