Bhatkal: A 44-year-old woman died after accidentally falling into a well at Uttarakoppa village in Golikumbri of Bhatkal taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Lata Vishnu Naik (44). According to sources, she had been suffering from mental health issues for the past several years and was undergoing treatment.

Lata had reportedly stepped out of her house when she accidentally slipped and fell into a drinking water well located in a nearby agricultural field. She is believed to have drowned in the water.

A complaint in this regard has been lodged by her husband, Vishnu Naik, at the Murdeshwar Police Station, and police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
