Mangaluru: In a road accident that took place here near Gudde Angadi at Melkar in Bantwal Taluk, a woman was killed after she was knocked down by a private bus.

The deceased is identified as Ruksana (26).

The accident occurred when Ruksana was crossing the road after purchasing a few items from a shop. Following the incident, the bus driver and conductor abandoned the bus and fled. Angry residents pelted the bus with stones and damaged the window panes.
