Yellapur: The town police have arrested two persons on charges of transporting cattle illegally on National Highway-63 near Vishwadarshana School, in the town, on Thursday morning.

The accused have been identified as Kallappa Madevappa Ramanakoppa (27), resident of Machapur and Yusub Allauddin Khan (41), resident of Nalgar, in Kalghatagi, in Dharwad district. Police rescued two oxen and two cows worth Rs 50,000 and also took possession of Bolero Maxi truck from the accused.
