Karwar: In a shocking incident, a youth lost his life after a train hit him when he was busy in a phonecall on railway tracks of Amadalli near Karwar on Saturday, 11th August.

The deceased is identified as Ganesh Naik, aged 24, a resident of Bavikeri in Ankola taluk.

It is reported that the youth was speaking to someone in a phonecall using earphones, keeping his both the ears busy. The impact of collision was such that the victim received grievous head injuries and succumbed to it on the spot. He went off the tracks due to force of collision.

Soon after the incident, police rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations.

A case has been registered in Karwar rural police station.
