Yellapur: In an incident, a 19-year-old youth was washed away in the Satoddi waterfalls in Yellapur taluk on August 1, Wednesday evening.

The victim is identified as Yusuf Allauddin Batti, a resident of Mundagod. He was a student pursuing PU education.

According to the sources, Yusuf was accompanied by 14 other students of his college during his visit to Satoddi falls on Wednesday.

While watching the waterfalls, he slipped and washed away by huge waves.

After visiting the spot, PSI A Y Kamble said that the search operation is going on to trace Yusuf.
