Bhatkal: Murdeshwar police issue tourist safety guidelines for resorts and home stays

Bhatkal: Murdeshwar, a renowned tourist destination that attracts visitors from across the country, is now under stricter safety measures to ensure the security of tourists. In this regard, the Murdeshwar Police summoned owners of home stays, resorts, and lodges within its jurisdiction and issued them strict guidelines.

During a meeting held under the supervision of the Bhatkal Rural Circle Police Inspector (CPI) Santhosh Kaikini, the authorities emphasized that all home stays and lodges, particularly those accommodating foreign tourists, must adopt essential safety measures. Police officials stressed that before taking tourists to remote, deserted, or forested areas, it is mandatory to inform the concerned police station and obtain prior approval.

The police warned that if any tourist is taken to such areas without prior permission from law enforcement or the forest department and encounters any mishap—whether due to criminal activity or attacks by wild animals—the full responsibility will fall on the home stay or lodge owners. Such negligence will be considered a punishable offense under the law.

The authorities have strictly instructed all home stay, resort, and lodge owners to adhere to these safety guidelines to ensure the protection of tourists and avoid any legal consequences.
