Haliyal: A distressing incident unfolded at Gundolli Government Primary School in Haliyal taluk when 11 students fell sick after consuming fruit seeds from a tree within the school premises.  

The unfortunate incident occurred on Monday evening, causing the affected students to experience vomiting and dehydration. Alarmed parents promptly rushed their children to the government hospital for immediate medical attention.  

Following primary treatment, the students were subsequently transferred to the taluk hospital for further care.  

According to Taluk Health Officer Anil Kumar, the fruit seeds ingested by the students contained a poisonous substance, leading to their symptoms. But now Students have been discharged from the hospital.
