Bhatkal: A minor girl student of 10th standard from national public school here at bunder road in Bhatkal, was sexually harassed and later tried to rape by three of the school staffs, while she had been to school for document submission work. The accuseds faculties have been identified as the school principal Shakeel Mulla, teacher Nadeem Mulla and their car driver (name not known), who tried to harass and rape the girl. In this regard, Nadeem Mulla (44 yrs) was arrested by Bhatkal police on 3rd March, Friday. While other two accuseds are absconding and police have already spread their team for their search.
Sources said, the victim student and her mother had gone to school for submission of certain documents which are required for the SSLC external examinations. After submitting the documents, both, student and her mother were out for their home to Byndoor. As they made their preparations to move Byndoor, a call from school was received to mother informing that some more work was still pending and asked her to resend her daughter back to school. Mother moved to Byndoor, while daughter came back to school to complete the pending works.
As the girl arrived to school, she was taken to unknown place in car by the Shakeel Mulla, Nadeem Mulla and their car driver. They sexually harassed her and later dropped the girl at a stop were Byndoor tempo arrives. As the girl reached home, she explained the entire incident to her mother, after which both mother and daughter came back to Bhatkal and filed a case in Bhatkal town police station.
After filing the complain, police took the girl for questionings related to incident and later held a medical test from doctors. Realising this, Shakeel Mulla and his car driver went absconding. But, Nadeem Mulla was found hiding by locking himself into classroom of school, which made police to break the door after getting order from court. This made Nadeem to exit from room and asked the police not to break the door. Finally, Nadeem Mulla was arrested in the evening of 3rd March, Friday. He was arrested under POCSO act.
Speaking to the press people present during the moment, Nadeem Mulla said, "some agencies are forcefully involved in humiliating me. The entire incident is highlighted by false reporting, I have all proofs and CCTV footages. No kind of sexual harassment was made. Even few months before some tried targeting me and had filed 3 cases against me, which proved false".
Bhatkal DYSP Shivkumar told press people that they will soon try to arrest those absconding. He said that they have got some information regarding those two absconding which will be useful to trace them to arrest and the formation of special team have been made for their soon arrest.
