Bhatkal: Fathima degree college, Hubli lifts victory and registered it's championship after defeating Global College Hubli by 1-0 in the ' KUD Single zone inter collegiate football tournament', which held at Anjuman ground in Anjumanabad here at Bhatkal. The tourney commenced on 15th febraury, Wednesday, which lasted till the eve of 16th febraury, Thursday.

A total of 14 teams from various colleges under the Karnataka University Dharwad, contested in the tournament for the championship, which was played on 15th and 16th febraury, 2017.

The finals commenced at around 5:00 PM. The match proved to be a tough contest as no goal was scored in first half match, later Shubham of Fathima College, Hubli kicked an point-taking shot in the 28th minute, which completely twisted the match.

The prize distribution and the presentation ceremony was held immediately after the finals. Anjuman alumni and famous Architect Mr. Ismail Jubapu was the chief guest of the function while Basha Phelewan and SM Syed Ahmed Parvez were present as the guest of honour. 

Addressing the gathering, well known Businessman, Mr. Ismail Jubapu, congratulated the winners, runner and hosts for organizing such a successful tournament. 

Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen's President Mr. Abdur Raheem Jukaku presided over the valedictory function.

The champions and runners up, Fathima Degree College and Global degree College, Hubli respectively were awarded trophies. The third place was claimed by Host Anjuman Degree College and PG Center, Bhatkal. Mr. Akram Pasha Bellary of Nehru College, Hubli was named as the player of the tournament while Richard, from the Fathima Degree College, Hubli was awarded with the title of 'player of the final'. Mr. Ravi of Global College, Hubli was awarded as the best goal keeper and Mr. Maaz Ahmed of Anjuman Degree College was awarded as Young Promising Player.

Also present on the occasion were, Anjuman degree College Board secretary Javid Husain Armar, Anjuman Degree college principal prof. M M Shaikh, vice-Principal Sahil Ahmed, prof. MM Malik, physical directors prof. Kaleemullah and prof. Mohan Mesta, Prof Altaf and others.
