Mangaluru: C B Rishyanth, an IPS officer from the 2013 batch of the Karnataka Cadre, assumed the position of in-charge superintendent of police in Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday.

Due to medical leave, DK SP Dr Vikram Amathe is currently unavailable, leading to Rishyanth's appointment as the in-charge SP.

Originally from Bengaluru, Rishyanth has previously served as the ASP in Dakshina Kannada, Mysuru, Bagalkot and Davanagere.
