Bengaluru: A police complaint was filed against BJP MP Pratap Sinha by the Karnataka Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (KPYCC) members for his remarks on Kargil martyr’s daughter and student of Delhi University, Ms. Gurmeher Kaur.

Pratap Sinha, who was representing Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency, had compared Gurmeher Kaur, whose social media campaign against the ABVP had gone viral, to the underworld fugitive, Dawood Ibrahim.

A complaint was lodged at High Grounds police station by KPYCC secretary Umesh Boregowda, stating that the statements made by Pratap Sinha are insensitive and an insult to a martyrs, who have given lives for the nation.

Pratap’s remarks had attracted widespread criticism by a lot of people.

The High Grounds police sent the complaint to the legal cell of the police department for an opinion.

The police officer told to KPYCC that further action would be taken after they receive the opinion from the legal department.
