Bhatkal: Rabita Educational Award Program Highlights Concerns Over Muslims' Educational Backwardness in the Country

Bhatkal: The Rabita Educational Award Program, organized by the NRI-based Rabita Society annually, aims to raise interest in education among local Muslims and promote higher education within the community. 
This year too, Rabita Gold Medals were distributed to outstanding students of Bhatkal as well as outside Bhatkal and the Bhatkali students studying in Gulf countries.

Maulana Mohammed Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi the General Secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, served as the chief guest and expressed deep concern about the educational backwardness of Muslims in the country. He emphasized that the situation is alarming, with educational standards among Muslims falling even below those of Dalits. Maulana attributed this setback to poverty and urged the community to prioritize establishing educational institutions in needy areas over extravagant functions and events.

During the program, recognition letters were presented to Maulana Aziz Khalifa Nadvi, Dr. Alia Nazneen, and Anjuman High School teacher Rabia Usman for their notable contributions. The event featured two sessions, compered by Athar Peerzadeh in the morning and Maulana Sabir Ali Akbara in the evening, along with speeches emphasizing the importance of education by various esteemed speakers.

The program commenced with the recitation of the Quran, followed by a beautiful Naat recitation, and an inspiring welcome speech delivered by Maulana SM Syed Hashim Nadvi. Ateequr Rahman Muniri, the General Secretary of Rabita, then took the stage and underscored the program's significance and objectives, urging Muslims to strive for progress in the field of education. Umar Farooq Musbah, the esteemed president of Rabita, presided over the function, ensuring its smooth and organized execution. The occasion was graced by the esteemed presence of Bhatkal Qazi, Maulana Abdul Rab Khatibi Nadvi, and the enlightening words of Maulana Khawaja Akrami Madani, who both offered their wisdom and encouragement to the attendees.

The day-long event saw active participation from numerous members of Gulf Jamaat and local organizations, all united in their dedication to the cause of education. The proceedings culminated with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Yasir Qasimji, expressing gratitude to all attendees for their support and participation in this significant gathering.
