Heavy Rain Claims Two Lives in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi

Mangaluru/Udupi: Two person have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi.

On Tuesday night, a tragic accident occurred in Maliadi near Thekkatte, where a 65-year-old man, Diwakar Shetty was riding a two-wheeler. Unfortunately, he lost control of his vehicle due to heavy rainfall and plunged into a nearby lake, which lacked any protective barrier along the roadside.

Local residents alerted the authorities where Shetty's body was recovered around 1.30 am on Wednesday.

A case has been registered at Kota Police Station.

In a separate incident on Tuesday evening, another fatality took place in Pilar, within the limits of Someshwara .

The deceased has been identified as  52-year-old painter Suresh Gatti.

He accidentally fell into the water while crossing a culvert.

Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors pronounced him dead.
