Honnavar: In a grisly road accident, one person was killed on the spot when a bike he was riding was hit by a speedy fish-van at around 9pm at Kasarkod NH66 near Honnavar.

The deceased bike rider has been identified as Mahesh Durgu Harikanta (27), a resident of Haldipur village of Honnavar taluk.

According to sources, the incident  took place when the bike was on the way towards Haldipur route from Kasarkod and the fish-van was moving in the opposite direction. The  head-on collision resulted in the on-spot death of the bike rider. Deceased Mahesh received gruesome injuries all over his body, which led him to succumb on the spot.

In this regard, a case has been registered at Honnavar police station and further investigations are on.
