Karwar: Thousands of job aspirants attended the interviews and other tests at the mega employment mela organised there on Saturday.

More than 6,000 aspirants thronged the venues set-up in two places-one at Karwar Medical College building and another at Government Polytechnic building – and faced the interviews of different companies. Candidates not only from Uttara Kannada district but from neighbouring Dharwad, Haveri, Belagavi, Gadag, Vijaypur, Bagalkot and Goa too attended the employment fair.

The mela would continue on Sunday too and around 5,000 candidates are expected to participate.

More than 180 companies, including Toyota Industries Engine India Pvt Ltd, Tata Power, Tata Marcopolo Motors, Tech Mahindra, Hinduja Global Solutions are taking part in the mela. Two representatives from each company conducted the tests and interviews to the shortlisted candidates.
