Mangaluru: Prakash Shetty, a businessman and local leader in Ullal, announced to award Rs.1 lac to the police if they nab the murderers of Karthik Raj within a month, on 19th March Sunday.
The reason for such an offer was to speed up the investigation process on the murder of mechanical engineer Karthik Raj in Konaje. Karthik Raj, son of former Mangaluru taluk panchayat president, Umesh Ganiga, was attacked at Asaigoli on 22nd October, 2016. He passed away a day later at the hospital

While he was speaking at a Satyagraha protest, Prakash Shetty said that it has been five months since Karthik Raj was brutally murdered just a few meters away from the jurisdictional police station.
And in order to speed up the progress in the police investigation on the case, he said, “If they (police) arrest the real culprits in a month, I will give them a cash reward of Rs.1 lakh", on 19th March, Sunday.
