Karwar: A Three-year-old child died after falling into an open well in Harideva, Karwar on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased child has been identified as Stuti, daughter of Suraj Bunt.

According to locals, the child was playing near the well when she accidentally fell into it. The well was not covered and the child was unable to swim.

Locals rushed to the spot and pulled the child out of the well, but she was already dead.

The incident has been reported to the police and a case has been registered.
