Sirsi: A house was gutted in a fire at Hudelkoppa village of Sirsi taluk on Friday. No one was in the house when the incident occurred. House owner Parvathi Kannappa Haslar and her family members were out on Friday when the fire broke out in the house and spread to the gas cylinder that was kept in the nearby kitchen. The cylinder exploded and the whole house turned to ash. In the incident clothes, household items, gold, case, and other valuables worth Rs 2 lakh were burnt. Fire tenders, with their efforts brought the fire under control.

A case has been registered at Banvasi police station limits and further investigations are on.
