Kumta: A huge sized branch of a decades old banyan tree falls on a busy main road of a town near court road on 1st March, Wednesday. In this regard no casualties has been reported to the movers across the road.

Eye witness say, the incident took place in the morning around 11am. Even though there was no blow of wind, the branch of a tree broke and fell on the busy road. Fortunately, safety reported to the movers across the roadside. 

Due to the incident, a huge stretch of traffic breakdown was observed for a while. Later, the traffic was made to flow through alternate routes. Also the electric pole broke out in the incident resulting in the disconnection of power in the town.
