Kundapur: A fisherman died and another is missing after a traditional fishing boat capsized near Uppunda in Udupi district.

The deceased has been identified as Nagesh Kharvi, 30. Satish Kharvi, 29, is missing.

There were eight fishermen on board the vessel, and six of them managed to swim back to shore. A huge wave hit the boat about 300 meters from the shore.

Personnel from the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the Coastal Security Police, and local people are searching for Satish Kharvi.
