Udupi: A 49-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself to the ceiling fan on Saturday due to alleged harassment by loan app management.

The deceased has been identified as Raghavendra A Shanbhag, a resident of Manipal.

Raghavendra Shanbogue, an assistant manager at Baliga Fishnet, borrowed a loan through an online app.

He soon began receiving calls from the app's agents demanding repayment. Dejected by the constant harassment, Shanbogue committed suicide.
