Bhatkal: The prestigious Batool-e-Anjuman 2024-25 title was awarded to Umme Kulsum, daughter of Abdus Salam Mohtisham, for her exceptional achievements and exemplary contributions in academics and extracurricular activities. The Runner-Up Batool-e-Anjuman honor was bestowed upon Mariya Quibtiya, daughter of Mohammed Mazhar Haji Faqui, in recognition of her dedication and outstanding performance throughout the year. Both students were honored with gold medals. Additionally, the title of Eminent Student 2024-25 was conferred upon Saifa, daughter of Syed Jafar Sadique, for her remarkable accomplishments and inspiring commitment to excellence; she was awarded a silver medal.

It is noteworthy that the Batool-e-Anjuman title is awarded annually to the most brilliant student of Anjuman Girls High School, Basti Road, based on their academic performance in the 8th, 9th, and 10th grades, along with their curricular and co-curricular achievements over the three years. Other criteria include teacher evaluations and a final management viva. In essence, the recipient of the title must excel as an all-rounder.

The awards were presented during the school's 53rd Annual Gathering, held on Sunday, December 15, and graced by Assistant PSI Deepa G. Nayak of Bhatkal Town Police Station as the Chief Guest and Dr. Tuba Taneem from the Bhatkal Taluka Government Hospital as the Guest of Honour. Both dignitaries commended the students for their outstanding performances and motivated others to strive for excellence in academics and co-curricular pursuits.

The program commenced with the recitation of the Quran by student Aysha, daughter of Taif Rukunuddin, followed by translations in English by Umme Kulsum and in Urdu by Saifa. Student Sadiqa, daughter of Abdul Majeed, recited a Hamd, while Munazira Tayiba, daughter of Noorul Hassan, presented a Naat. The school anthem, Tarana-e-Anjuman, was beautifully rendered by Munazira Tayiba and Party, creating an uplifting atmosphere.

The welcome address was delivered by Aseeya A.G., Assistant Headmistress and Science & Mathematics teacher, while the school’s Headmistress, Bibi Atiya A.G., presented the annual report.

A special highlight of the program was the felicitation of Mrs. Shobha U. Naik, a dedicated Physical Education teacher who has served the school for 34 years and is set to retire on March 31, 2025. Her decades of commitment to the school were lauded by all present.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by school teacher Nusrat Jahan Gangoli.

Dignitaries such as Dr. Farzana Mohtisham, Principal of Anjuman Women’s College; Mrs. Taliah Muallim, Vice Principal of Anjuman Degree College; Mrs. Saba Damda, Headmistress of Anjuman Girls English Medium High School, Nawayath Colony; and Ms. Shehnaz Jukaku, Headmistress of Anjuman Alfitrah Islamic School, were among the notable attendees. The event was presided over by Seema Abubaker Kasimji, Chairperson of the Anjuman Ladies Advisory Committee.
