Panaji: At least three individuals lost their lives as heavy rainfall lashed Goa, leading to landslides and wall collapses in various parts of the state. Authorities managed to rescue 150 people who were stranded at a popular waterfall in North Goa's Sattari region.
Police reports indicate that three laborers working on an engineering project died when a retaining wall collapsed, trapping them in North Goa's Kundaim area. Another worker sustained injuries in the incident. The victims have been identified as Dilip Yadav (37), Mukesh Kumar Singh (38), and Trinath Nayak (47).
In Sattari taluka, over 150 people, including both locals and tourists, found themselves stranded at Pali waterfall within Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary due to rising water levels caused by heavy rain. The rescue operation, which lasted four hours, successfully brought them to safety.
