Bhatkal Anjuman elections: Computerized voting App delivers rapid results

Bhatkal: The general elections of the 100-year-old educational institution, Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen Bhatkal, concluded successfully on Sunday, with students from Anjuman Engineering College developing the voting software under the supervision of their professor. Within half an hour of the election's completion, the results were announced, revealing the names of all 23 winning members on the screen.

Led by Anjuman Election Commissioner Abdul Wajid Kola, the voting process commenced at nine o'clock in the morning at the Anjuman Administrative Block. Twelve computers were installed in the administrative hall, with Anjuman students volunteering as guides for voters. These arrangements ensured a smooth voting experience, with voters expressing satisfaction. The voting process concluded at 5:15 PM.

For Computerized Voting, Anjuman Computer Science students, led by Mohammed Azaan Peshmam, developed the voting software with support from students Syed Safwan Pirzade, Mohammed Zayan Kashimji, and Mushir-ul-Haque Khan, under the guidance of college professor Zahid Kharuri. Out of 49 candidates, 23 were elected for the new executive body, facilitated by the software's professional and systematic design, ensuring no wasted votes.

Following the voting process, the results were displayed on a big screen within half an hour, showing all candidates' names and their obtained votes outside the Anjuman office, ensuring transparency. The 23 members of the executive body were announced clearly and transparently.

Notably, Mr. Ismail Siddique, the former general secretary of the Anjuman, secured the highest 440 votes, followed by Dr. SM Syed Salim with 415 votes, Mr. KM Burhan with 398 votes, Mr. Mohtisham Aheed with 382 votes, Mr. Rameez Kola, and Mr. Mubasshir Hussain Hallary, both receiving 370 votes.

The new faces joining the executive body of Anjuman include Kadli Abdul Haseeb, KM Mushtaq, Barmawar Syed Azhar Nadvi, Ruknuddin Imtiyaz Hussain, and SM Syed Hussain Zakir.

Election Commissioner Mr. Abdul Wajid Kola reported that out of 745 Anjuman members eligible to vote, 536 exercised their voting rights, indicating a turnout of nearly 72 percent. The list of elected members for Anjuman's new executive body is provided below:
