Bhatkal: Assistant Commissioner Dr. Naina inaugurated the highly anticipated state government's guarantee scheme, "Gruha Lakshmi," in Bhatkal on Wednesday. The scheme aims to provide monthly financial assistance of ₹2,000 to women heading families in Karnataka.

Presiding over the launch ceremony of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme in Bhatkal, organized by the Bhatkal Municipality at the Urban Bank hall, Dr. Naina emphasized that this initiative would empower women financially and enable them to lead self-reliant lives. She encouraged women to utilize the monthly ₹2,000 provided by the state government judiciously.

Addressing a gathering of hundreds of women participants, former President of the Bhatkal Municipal Council, Parvez Qasimji, highlighted that the Gruhalakshmi scheme, promising a monthly deposit of ₹2,000, was one of the Congress party's pre-election commitments, among five other guarantees. He noted that the implementation of the Gruhalakshmi scheme in Karnataka by the Congress government sets a unique precedent not yet seen elsewhere in the country. Qasimji urged the public to take full advantage of these welfare schemes, expressing his hope for Karnataka to emerge as a model state for the entire nation.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Municipal Chief Officer KM Suresh. The Taluka Medical Officer, Dr. Savitha Kamath, and the Taluka Panchayat Executive Officer, Prabhakar Chikkanmane, also addressed the audience. Municipal Councillors including Abdul Azeem Mandey, Altaf Kharuri, Qaiser Motisham, Rauf Naite, and Imshad Mukhtasar, along with Municipal Senior Health Inspector Sujiya Suman and many others, were also present۔
