The situation poses particular peril for motorbike riders. When an animal suddenly emerges in their path, it often results in loss of balance, causing riders to fall on the unforgiving concrete road. For many, this unfortunate scenario lands them in the hospital. The risk is even greater for those not wearing helmets, potentially endangering their lives.

In daylight, riders can often spot animals from a distance, providing some time for precautionary maneuvers. However, the situation takes a darker turn at night. With the commencement of the National Highway's four-lane expansion, concerns mount over the lack of adequate lighting along the roadside. Road lamps remain conspicuously absent in most areas. The question looms: How can riders navigate these unforeseen obstacles?

Two-wheeler riders must exercise extreme caution, as encountering an unexpected animal on the highway is a constant threat. Wearing a helmet during travel is not just advisable but necessary for safety.

Recent tragic incidents serve as stark reminders of the dangers posed by these free-roaming animals. One young man from Bhatkal lost his life in Karwar after colliding with an animal, while another remains in critical condition, confined to the ICU at Mangalore Hospital.

Alarmed by the unbridled presence of animals on the highway, the people are urgently appealing to both the taluk and district administrations to take immediate action, alleviating the plight of the people.
