New Delhi: In a recent incident during the debate on the Chandrayaan 3 mission in the Lok Sabha, BJP member Ramesh Bidhuri directed communal slurs at Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Danish Ali, triggering a strong reaction from the Opposition. The derogatory remarks sparked outrage, prompting the Congress to call for Bidhuri's suspension from the Lok Sabha.

Ali promptly addressed the issue by writing a letter to Speaker Om Birla, detailing the offensive language used against him by Bidhuri during the speech. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reportedly issued an apology for Bidhuri's remarks, and the Speaker warned of strict action if such behavior were repeated in the future.

Reacting to the incident, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh condemned Bidhuri's actions, describing the apology as insufficient and deeming Bidhuri's words as an insult to Parliament. Additionally, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi expressed skepticism about any substantial action being taken against Bidhuri.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh also joined the call for action against Bidhuri, characterizing the language used as that of a "goon" and "mafia." RJD President Lalu Prasad criticized the Prime Minister, attributing such behavior to a decline in social and political standards.

RJD MP Manoj Jha voiced his concerns, stating that the incident was not surprising, given the derogatory language used against a fellow Muslim Parliamentarian. He emphasized the need to address the implications of such language on the larger discourse and society, questioning the silence of the PM on the matter and shedding light on the truth behind the PM's 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' ideology.
