Burglary at Puttur High School: Valuables Worth Rs 73,000 Stolen

Mangaluru: Valuables were stolen from Shanmukhadeva High School in Siddamoole, Kolthige village of Puttur taluk, Mangaluru, as unidentified individuals made off with items worth Rs 73,000.

In a complaint to Bellare police, headmistress Krishnaveni S explained that she had securely locked a room containing a computer, public addressing system, speaker, charger light, and Rs 14,500 in cash on January 20 before leaving. The CCTV camera was inactive due to power fluctuation, and the school remained closed on January 21 and 22.

Teachers Anirudh and Veenakumari, upon visiting the school on January 23, discovered the broken lock of the headmistress' room. Upon closer inspection, it was revealed that miscreants had stolen a computer and monitor, Rs 14,500 cash, charger light, cordless mike, and speaker.

A case has been registered under Section 454, 457, and 380 of the IPC.
