Bhatkal: In Shiroor Bukhari Colony of Udupi district, bordering Bhatkal, a car parked outside a house suddenly caught fire. Along with the car, a scooter parked nearby was also burnt to ashes. The incident took place between Wednesday and Thursday night around 1:20 am.

According to sources, a car parked outside the house owned by Mr. Mirza Rizwan for a month suddenly caught fire, which engulfed the nearby parked scooter and then spread to one room of the house and destroyed the furniture inside the house. Including AC, fan and other equipments were also burnt to ashes. Before the fire spread to other rooms, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control.

In this regard, a case has been registered at Byndur police station and the loss has been estimated at around Rs.14 lakh.
