Elocution/Speech Competition to Pay Homage to National Leaders Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri

Bengaluru: October 2nd marks the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, two great national leaders of our country. In honor of these revered national leaders, PRIDE (Lokasabha) is hosting a commemorative event in the Parliament on 2nd October 2023. This event will witness the participation of 25 youths from Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan(NYKS) across India, with a select few getting an opportunity to speak on the remarkable contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.

To select these 25 youths from NYKS, it has been decided to conduct an Elocution/Speech Competition across the country on the topics of "Gandhi's Global Impact: Relevance of Gandhian Thought in Today's World" and "Lal Bahadur Shastri - His life lessons and legacy in Amritkaal."

Participants should be at least 18 years old and should not have exceeded the age of 29 years as of 1st October 2023. The duration is 3 minutes (maximum) in Hindi or English languages for Lal Bahadur Shastri - His life lessons and legacy in Amritkaal in Virtual Mode.

The winner of the District level competition will attend the competition to be held at the State Level. The winners at the State Level competitions from all the States will be screened and selected. The selected participants will get an opportunity to represent the state at the National Level.

The District level competitions will be held before September 20, 2023, and thereafter, the State level competition on September 25, 2023. The selected participants will get an opportunity to participate in the Central Hall of Parliament on October 2nd, 2023, in New Delhi.
