Kumta: Ten persons were injured when the car they were traveling in collided with a private bus in Alvekodi village on National Highway 66 in Kumta taluk. The accident occurred on Wednesday.

According to sources, all the injured were from Hyderabad and Telangana, en route to the Sabarimala Yatra.

The private bus was traveling from Kumta to Honnavar, while the car was approaching from the opposite direction, leading to the collision.

All injured were shifted to Kumta Government Hospital for medical attention.

The accident temporarily disrupted traffic flow on the highway, but Kumta police swiftly arrived at the scene to clear the road.

A case has been registered at Kumta police station.
