IAUHS Annual Gathering: Abdus Sami Bangali Awarded with Viquar-E-Islamia Gold Medal

Bhatkal: The annual social gathering of Islamia Anglo Urdu High School (IAUHS) was celebrated at Usman Hasan Hall on Monday here in Bhatkal. During the event, the "Viquar-e-Islamia” award was presented to the outstanding student.

Mr. Abdus Sami S/o Akbar Ali Bangali, received the Viquar-E-Islamia (Gold Medal) for the year 2023-24, while Mr. Mohammed Yaseen S/o Mohammed Syed, and Mr. Tameemul Haq S/o Abdul Gani, secured the runner-up positions.

Shri V.D. Moger, the Block Education Officer of Bhatkal, as the chief guest during a gathering that celebrated the academic achievements of the institution. Mr. Moger, a former student of Anjuman, expressed his pride, stating that everything he had achieved and experienced that day was a testament to the values instilled in him by the esteemed institution.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Moger emphasized the importance of a well-rounded education in today's highly competitive world. He encouraged students to diversify their knowledge across various streams, highlighting that a holistic education prepares individuals to face the challenges of the modern era.

Recognizing the upcoming SSLC examinations as a crucial turning point in students' lives, Mr. Moger stressed the need for collective efforts from parents, teachers, and students. He called upon parents and teachers to actively support and guide students during this critical period, as their involvement is paramount for the success of the students.

Dr. Fazlur Rahman, Principal of Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management (AITM) Bhatkal, as the guest of honour, where he addressed students on the importance of planning for the future. Speaking passionately, Dr. Rahman emphasized the need for students and parents to proactively decide on a roadmap after the SSLC examination, ensuring a clear direction towards their goals in life. Encouraging them, Dr. Fazlur Rahman said to carefully consider their choices and urged the audience to make informed decisions about the streams they would pursue in higher education.

"Lack of guidance often leaves students in a state of confusion, making it difficult for them to choose the right path," remarked Dr. Rahman. He stressed the importance of timely decision-making, advising students to plan their academic journey and choose a course that aligns with their aspirations.

Dr. Rahman also addressed the pervasive issue of excessive mobile phone usage among students. "Mobile phones should be used as tools for gaining knowledge rather than distractions. Use them wisely, and let them contribute positively to your education," he emphasized.

Meanwhile, several students were awarded trophies, certificates, and cash prizes for their performance and achievements in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities during the academic year.

During the program, three esteemed educators were felicitated for their remarkable service. Mr. Mohammed Farooque Gani, a dedicated P.E. Teacher, concluded 29 years of service. Moulana Mohammed Ashraf Muallimi, an accomplished Deeniyat & Urdu Teacher, completed 27 years, while Moulana Shaheen Qamar, another respected Deeniyat & Urdu Teacher, retired after 15 years of dedicated service.

The program, presided over by the Vice-president of Anjuman Hami-e-Muslimeen, Mohammed Sadique Pillore.

The event commenced with an invocation by Mohammed Adnan Nawab, followed by the Naath performed by Aatif Qazi; Mr. Sadulla Ruknuddin, Secretary of the High School Board, delivered a warm welcome speech, and Mr. Arifuzzaman, a Mathematics Teacher, presented an introduction of the guests; the School Song was sung by Abdus Sami & Party, and Mr. Shabbir Ahamed Dafedar, Head Master of the institution, presented the School Annual Report, with Moulana Abdul Hafiz Khan, Urdu Teacher, delivering the Vote of Thanks.

On the dais, Additional Secretary Ishaque Shabandri, Moulana Ameen Ruknuddin, Yaseen Askeri and many others were present.
