BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah successfully resolves Congress MLAs' concerns through 31 meetings covering all districts. The meetings, attended by 136 MLAs and spread over five days for a total of 50 hours, aimed to ensure a greater role for legislators in the administration.

The idea of interaction with MLAs emerged during the Congress Legislature Party meeting, focusing on prioritizing development works and addressing grievances based on funds availability. Resources are strained due to guarantee schemes, but Siddaramaiah emphasized the importance of efficient work implementation and adherence to timelines, keeping the impending Lok Sabha polls in mind.

Legislators expressed their demands for constituency-specific works, with district in-charge ministers providing insights and Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar offering suggestions during the meetings.

Siddaramaiah emphasized the effective implementation of five guarantees targeting the middle-class and poorer sections. The upcoming BBMP and LS polls were highlighted as priorities, urging MLAs to secure a strong Congress victory. A list of scams from the previous BJP government has reportedly been compiled.

Each minister was directed to visit party offices in their respective districts and address worker grievances. To streamline efforts, a team from the Chief Minister's Secretariat will compile separate demands and progress lists based on districts, forwarding them to relevant ministers and district in-charge secretaries.
