Karwar: A bike rider was killed after colliding with a bus while overtaking on Binga National Highway 66 in Karwar on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Gowda, a resident of Shirgunji village of Ankola taluk.

According to sources, Jitendra was going from Ankola to Karwar when he tried to overtake the bus on a curving road. However, a container came in front of him and he collided with the bus while trying to avoid hitting the container. He died on the spot.

The Karwar Traffic Police reached the spot and registered a case. They are investigating the matter.
