Leaders Advocate for Bhatkal Stoppage on Key Train Routes, Present Memorandum to Railway Authorities

Bhatkal: A delegation of leaders representing various organizations, led by the century-old social organization Majlise Islah wa Tanzeem Bhatkal, submitted a memorandum to the Bhatkal railway master, addressing the Union Railway Minister on Saturday. They demanded the inclusion of Bhatkal as a stoppage for various important trains connecting Mumbai, Mangalore, Udupi, and Kerala.

Bhatkal taluk holds a prominent position as a tourist destination, attracting visitors from all over the country, including different districts of the state, who come to explore Bhatkal and Murudeshwar. Moreover, a significant portion of Bhatkal's population resides in Gulf countries, other nations, and various states across the country.

In consideration of the community's welfare, the leaders advocated for the inclusion of stoppages at Bhatkal Railway station for the following trains: 19258/19259 - Kochuveli Bhavnagar Express, 16312/16313 - Kochuveli Ganganagar Express, 16633/16634 - Thiruvananthapuram Veraval Express, 16335/16336 - Nagercoil Gandhi Dham Express, 22148/22149 - Ernakulam Pune Super. FAST (Fortnightly), and 12201/12202 - Kochuveli Mumbai LTT (Bi-weekly) and 12431/12432 - Thiruvananthapuram Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express (Tri-weekly).

Bhatkal serves as a vital trade center, attracting individuals from different states. Furthermore, a considerable number of people travel from Bhatkal to other states for business, health, and educational purposes, especially to Mumbai, Udupi, Mangalore, and Kerala. Given these factors, the memorandum stressed the need for immediate action and arrangements to facilitate stoppages at Bhatkal railway station.

During this event, Vice President of Tanzeem and General Secretary of Rabita Society, Atiqur Rahman Muniri, President of Nagrik Hita Rakshana Vedike and Sadbhavana Manch, Satish Kumar Naik, President of Bhatkal Muslim Youth Federation, Azizur Rahman Ruknuddin, JCI Bhatkal president Shaina Shaikh, General Secretary Bhatkal  Vikas Samithi Abdul Jabbar and other social workers, including Javeed Mukri, City Medical Iqbal, KM Ashfaque, Bilal Qamri and Jilani Shabandari, were present.
