Mangaluru: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) carried out an extensive raid on Friday at Mangalore University's campus in Konaje, targeting the offices of the vice-chancellor, registrar, in-charge registrar, and the bank's office.
The raid focused on uncovering evidence related to the Rs 150-crore recruitment scam within the Kolar-Chikkaballapur District Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited (KOMUL), leading to the seizure of incriminating documents. Official sources within the ED, speaking anonymously, confirmed the raids and noted that they come shortly after the issuance of notices to Mangalore University just days ago. It was revealed that Mangalore University had administered examinations and evaluated answer scripts on behalf of KOMUL, which is now at the center of the alleged scam.
An MU staff member suspected of involvement in the scam is currently in hiding, according to ED officials.
