Bhatkal: Murdeshwar Beach, which was closed to tourists following the tragic drowning of four students from Mulbagal, Kolar, on December 10, is now being prepared for reopening. As part of precautionary measures, safety divider ropes are being installed along the shore for better visibility and to restrict tourists from venturing beyond designated areas. Additional safety protocols are also being implemented, and the beach is expected to reopen for visitors tomorrow, Thursday.
The unfortunate incident on December 10 occurred when four students lost their lives after being swept away by strong waves. Following this tragedy, the Uttara Kannada district administration imposed a complete ban on tourist activities at Murdeshwar Beach, leaving visitors disappointed.
With the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, thousands of tourists from across Karnataka and other parts of the country are expected to visit Murdeshwar and other destinations in the district. In light of this, the district administration is ensuring strict safety measures and necessary precautions are in place before reopening the beach.
