Mangaluru: One dead, six injured after fire breaks out at JPC Company

Mangaluru: Tragedy struck at JPC Company in Baikampady, Mangaluru, as a fire erupted during the night of January 13, resulting in one fatality and six injuries. 

The victim, identified as 64-year-old Ronald Paul, lost his life while conducting welding work atop an empty oil tank. As the fire engulfed the area, Ronald fell approximately 20 feet from the tank, sustaining severe injuries to his head and stomach.

The six other workers, who were on the floor at the time, suffered minor injuries in the incident. Prompt medical attention was sought, and Ronald was rushed to A J Hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later that night.

In response to the tragic incident, a case has been registered under Section 304A and 337 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the company owner. 

The Panamboor Police Station is conducting an investigation.
