Police Crack Menadu Dacoity Case: Seven Arrested in Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Authorities have successfully solved the dacoity case that unfolded in a residence at Menadu in Vagga village in Bantwal. Masked intruders had terrorized a mother and daughter at knife point, making away with valuable jewelry and cash amounting to lakhs of rupees. A total of seven individuals have now been apprehended in connection with the incident.

The arrested individuals include Ganesh Naika (26) from Mala, Dinesh Naika (22), Sagar Shetty (21), Rakesh L Pinto (29) from Aikala, M Seetaram alias Praveen (36) from Kadaba, Sudhir (29), and Mohammad from Ira in Bantwal taluk, who were found to have purchased the stolen gold.

Law enforcement authorities have confiscated 54 grams of jewelry valued at Rs 3.15 lakhs, an Innova car worth Rs 8 lakhs, and a Tata Indica car worth Rs 2 lakhs from the arrested suspects.

The theft transpired during the early hours of January 11.
